  • Doyle Lane California Studio Pottery Weed Pot Alligator Mustard Curdled Glaze – This is the second and last Doyle Lane that we recently acquired out of an estate. We are offering a vintage finely hand thrown ceramic weed pot crafted by California studio potter Doyle Lane (1925-2002). A student of Carlton Ball and Vivian Heino, Lane is considered a master potter and his work is highly sought. His weed pots are scarce, and this one is exceptional! Circa early 1960’s with a very unusual alligator mustard glaze with curdling covering the entire vessel down to the unglazed foot. The lip is donut shaped and more curdled than the body. Doyle Lane was well known for his excellent throwing skills and unique experimental glazes, and this fine example attests to both of those. Signed LANE on the bottom – 2 1/2″H x 2 1/2″W – In mint, pristine condition; no chips, cracks or repairs (T&S)
